Alonso Cisneros is an attorney with the Real Estate and Banking/Lender practice groups of Selzer Gurvitch.
Alonso has extensive experience advising and representing commercial banks, investment banks, regional and local banks, and other financial institutions in a variety of loan transactions—including permanent, bridge and construction loans, and split loan structures—secured by all asset classes including retail, office, hotel, industrial, multifamily, and mixed use. He counsels his clients on the origination, sales, and servicing of commercial real estate loans intended for sale and securitization in the secondary market, particularly in regard to loans originated under the Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS) program and the Freddie Mac Optigo Seller/Servicer program. In addition to representing lenders on loan originations, Alonso also works with lenders and servicers in loan servicing, asset management, and loan workouts.
Alonso has worked with a variety of agency loan products, including seniors housing, targeted affordable housing, Shari’ah structures, manufactured housing, student housing, green financing, value-add, and moderate rehab. He has closed billions in financings. Alonso also has handled a wide range of commercial real estate transactions including the acquisition, development, and disposition of real property.
Prior to joining Selzer Gurvitch, Alonso was a partner at an international law firm in their real estate finance group. Earlier in his career, he was a law clerk for The Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. While in the United States Marine Corps, Alonso served as the assistant training and operations officer and as a civil affairs officer with the Fourth Civil Affairs Group. He attained the rank of Major prior to receiving his honorable discharge from the Marines.
